There are several factors that influence the likelihood of successful injury claims’.

* The time scale. It is unlikely that lawyers would be willing to handle this case if the incident occurred more than three years ago. The limitation period for most personal injury claims is three years and if the case is not resolved or the process is not yet published in the court before the time the problem became law prohibited. There are exceptions to this rule. The most important is that time does not start running until the person reaches the age of 18 years. There are other exclusions and accident claims advice must always be sought in connection with matters relating to the restriction.

* Injuries. Doctors who treat the initial injury will keep the medical details, which is very important when making a claim. Lawyer will use this tape as evidence of the types and causes of injury and if necessary will obtain other specialist medical opinion as a result of the case. It is therefore important that medical advice was obtained as soon as possible after the accident both from General Practitioners and from the local hospital Accident and Emergency department.

* The Police. A specialist accident claim advice a lawyer will cooperate with the police officer who witnessed the accident or incident shortly after the accident and usually will get a copy of the police accident report which will be available immediately after any relevant criminal prosecution charged. A policeman could be summoned to give evidence in any civil court case for damages if necessary.

* Witness: Sometimes there are witnesses and they will be helpful if the report were collected immediately. Witnesses report strongly supports the prosecution’s case. However, this report should not be obtained in person by the person injured. A lawyer or a private inquiry agent who worked on behalf of a client will usually obtain a signed statement will check the client version of events.

* Proof. Further evidence and information gathered, the greater the level of success. Clients are encouraged to take a photo and details about the location of each injury. A daily diary map the recovery from injury is also useful in assessing any compensation payable for pain and suffering. This should include all the entries on the type of activities you can no longer enjoy, or how the pain intrudes upon your ability to enjoy the ‘quality’ of life. All receipts for expenses incurred should be carefully stored and submit (make sure to make photocopies).
